Tarrian Alexander

Drawn to a career in medicine out of a desire to help others, Tarrian D. Alexander is a certified community health worker and also holds certification in CPR and first aid from the American Heart Association. She began her career as a health unit coordinator at Parkland Memorial Hospital in 1994, a position she held until 2000. During this time, she attained an Associate of Applied Science in liberal arts and science from Mountain View College in 1998.

In 2000, Ms. Alexander joined Texas Oncology with the U.S. Oncology Network as a receptionist and level three scheduler. Earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Northwood University in 2001, she then became a medical service secretary with Texas Oncology in 2002 and a patient services representative and patient financial counselor in 2004. Since 2008, she has excelled as the front office coordinator and works coordinating schedules, patient appointments and vendors; acts as a clinical reviewer to authorize procedures; and serves as a financial counselor, benefit advisor and patient representative, among numerous other roles.

Alongside her primary career responsibilities, Ms. Alexander spent time involved with Oak Gardens Church, serving as the director of children’s ministries from 2012 to 2019. In 2020, she joined Baylor Scott & White Health as a community health worker. In this role, she helps people gain access to much needed services and does work in outreach, patient navigation and community health education. She is also presently studying toward a Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she expects to graduate in 2023.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Alexander intends to shift into becoming more involved in holistic medicine. She hopes to develop both a holistic program and a marriage class. Her ultimate goal is attain certification as a nurse educator and travel the United States and abroad, teaching people how to take care of themselves in all aspects of their lives, physical, emotional and spiritual. Named Employee of the Month by Baylor Scott & White Health in 2020 and Employee of the Year by Texas Oncology in 2010, Ms. Alexander considers the highlight of her career to be the ability she has to help where help is needed.
