A skilled management consultant, Becky E. Hites has served as the president of Steel-Insights, LLC since 2013, previously serving as a managing director for Miller Mathis. She began her career as a personnel assistant for the Robinson-Humphrey Co., Inc., in Atlanta in 1986, where she remained for two years before moving up the ranks to research assistant from 1988 to 1989, analyst assistant from 1989 to 1992, senior analyst assistant from 1992 to 1995 and financial analyst from 1995 to 1996. She then became a mergers and acquisitions associate at Kurt Salmon Associates in Atlanta from 1996 to 1998, corporate financial associate at B.T. Alex Brown in New York from 1998 to 1999, vice president of M. Hecht & Associates in New York from 1999 to 2001, and equity analyst assistant at Salomon Smith Barney in Chicago from 2001 to 2002. Ms. Hites went on to join World Steel Dynamics, serving as director from 2003 to 2005, managing director from 2005 to 2006 and managing partner from 2006 to 2013.
In addition to this tenure, Ms. Hites was a Master of Business Administration guest lecturer at Georgia State University in 1995, and the University of West Georgia from 1998 to 2000 and in 2005. A program committee member at the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute’s annual conference in 1996, she has served the Atlanta and New York chapters of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries in numerous capacities, including co-chair of the leadership conference in 1998, annual conference planning committee member, international marketing committee member from 2012 to 2017, and southern regional director and executive committee member since 2017. A webinar presenter at NABE in 2012, Ms. Hites served the Association for Iron & Steel Technology in a number of roles, and is notably the eastern Europe chief financial officer and board director of the Atlanta Council on International Relations since 2018. She was also a conference/keynote speaker at several steel industry events across Turkey, India, Canada and other European countries.
Prior to the start of her professional career, Ms. Hites pursued a formal education at the University of West Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1986. She then attended Georgia State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in finance in 1992. Active in her local community, Ms. Hites was on the committee to elect Sen. Paul Coverdell in 1992, and served the Georgia Shakespeare Festival as vice president in 1989 and president in 1990, as well as a board director. She has also volunteered with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival Society, Freedom Flyer Ministries and Honor Flight, and was a patron of the Republican National Convention, Shakespeare in the Park, Overshadowed Production and the Classic Stage Co. Furthermore, she was a delegate at the Georgia Republican Convention in 2019 and an alternative delegate for the Republican National Convention in 2020, as well as a congressional candidate for Georgia’s District 13 and president of the Douglas County, Georgia, Republican Women’s Club in 2020.
Ms. Hites has maintained affiliation with various organizations related to her career over the years, including the Society of Ministry, Metallurgy and Exploration from 2013 to 2015, the Atlanta Society of Financial and Investment Professionals since 2013, and the Atlanta Council on International Relations since 2017, among many others. An Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts Certificate of Achievement and Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, she is currently running for Congress, as she is very upset about the trampling of our rights happening right now.
