Cynthia L. Keller has demonstrated remarkable resilience and entrepreneurial spirit throughout her career, establishing herself as an expert in antiques and collectibles. As proprietor and owner of Queen Bee Storage & Sales, she manages every facet of the enterprise, from advertising and payroll to inventory management and purchasing coordination. Her hands-on approach as a sole proprietor has allowed her to cultivate a thriving business recognized for professionalism, customer satisfaction and a curated selection of unique items.
Ms. Keller’s educational background helped shape her business sense and sharpen her communication skills. After overcoming a difficult childhood that included leaving home at a young age and enduring several months in a challenging environment, she returned home with a renewed focus. She completed her education through the Turnabout program and earned her general educational development certificate. She went on to study journalism with an emphasis on investigative reporting at Northern State University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and pursued coursework at Southeast Technical Institute. In addition, she studied journalism and English and information systems at Dakota State University.
Before launching Queen Bee Storage & Sales, Ms. Keller founded Keller’s Auction, preparing her for later ventures. Her work in the auction industry allowed her to gain experience in sales, inventory handling and customer service. She became involved in the profession through Teller’s Auction, a role that sparked her passion for antiques and collectibles and inspired her to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Her business acumen was not developed in a single arena—over the years, she has juggled as many as three or four jobs simultaneously, holding diverse roles such as truck driver, bartender and cook. This eclectic work history reflects a deep well of resourcefulness and adaptability that continues to define her approach to business.
In addition to her commercial pursuits, Ms. Keller has a strong record of community involvement. She served as a foster parent with the Department of Social Services in South Dakota, opening her home to children in need and demonstrating a commitment to providing stability and support. Her sense of service was recognized when she received the Life Saving Award from the South Dakota Penitentiary, a testament to her courage and character.
Ms. Keller was born in Sioux Falls and takes pride in her family life. A mother of eight, two biological and six adopted, she has involved her children in her business from a young age. She values technical training and has encouraged her children to gain practical skills that prepare them for entrepreneurship. Many of them have followed in her footsteps, starting their own businesses and demonstrating the same spirit of initiative that defines their mother’s career.
Ms. Keller is also a published author. She released “All In: The Big Picture” through Page Publishing, the first volume of a five-book series titled “All In.” Her writing is another expression of her entrepreneurial mindset, and she continues to develop literary projects alongside her work in sales and business. Her aspirations extend beyond her current endeavors. She plans to travel throughout the United States, visiting flea markets and connecting with fellow collectors. She also hopes to complete her book series and launch a podcast centered on her writing.
