Violetta Diamond

Violetta Diamond brings nearly four decades of professional experience to her role with the American Postal Workers Union, where she has spent the last 35 years as executive assistant to the president until her retirement. In this capacity, she was a central figure in coordinating union initiatives and supporting efforts to improve workplace conditions for postal workers.

Before assuming her long-standing role as executive assistant, Ms. Diamond was elected secretary-treasurer of the Postal Workers Union, where she cultivated strong financial and administrative expertise. Throughout her career, she remained dedicated to maintaining accurate financial records and actively supporting union operations. In recognition of her contributions, she received multiple Appreciation Awards from the American Postal Workers Union.

Ms. Diamond’s influence has extended beyond internal operations, as she played a central role in mobilizing members during the 2019 All-Craft Conference by facilitating the Contract Action Team session, helping to drive contract negotiations, and bringing attention to issues such as climate change. She has also represented the Campaign for Postal Banking at a public field hearing in Cleveland, advocating for the restoration of affordable financial services in post offices to protect underserved communities.

Expanding her professional reach, Ms. Diamond now serves in the financial sector, where she founded her own company that specializes in retirement planning for federal employees and small business owners. Licensed in life, accident, and health variable annuities by the Ohio Department of Insurance, she is dedicated to helping clients achieve financial stability and long-term security. She attributes her success to her problem-solving skills, getting to the core of the problem, and being a team player.

Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. Diamond earned bachelor’s degrees in both biblical counseling and journalism, each contributing to her diverse professional journey. She has also completed life coaching courses to enhance her ability to guide and support others. In addition, she is a certified paralegal and a licensed insurance agent.

Moreover, Ms. Diamond’s civic engagement is equally extensive, reflecting a deep commitment to community service. She volunteers at her local church, hosts programs on two community radio stations, and supports PBS through regular donations. Additionally, she is a proud mother of two biological children and nine children through marriage. She finds joy in spending time with her family and staying engaged in meaningful pursuits, as well as her love for music. Looking ahead, she remains committed to personal and professional growth, with plans to mentor others and expand her involvement in life coaching.

Ms. Diamond hopes to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared for others and dedicated herself to making a difference in their lives.
