Emily Leduc Gagne

As a trusted tax associate attorney at the multinational law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Emily Leduc Gagne tackles tax provisions in contracts and critical documents for major mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, private equity transactions, capital markets, and more. She is lauded for her prowess in U.S. tax law and her expertise in tax planning and corporate reorganization.

Extending her professional reach outside the firm as a lawyer, Ms. Leduc Gagne is a member of the Ontario Bar Association in Canada, where she was born and laid a formidable academic foundation. She earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from The University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts in English literature with a minor in education from McGill University. While excelling in law school, she won the Osgoode Society Prize for Canadian Legal History for ranking among the top ten in her graduating class, the Honourable Ray Lawson Prize for ranking first in her 1L class, and the Aird & Berlis Prize for having the highest grade point average in her 1L class.

Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Ms. Leduc Gagne was a tax associate at McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Canada, gaining invaluable experience. Before specializing in taxes, she was an articling student at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and artistically thrived as a professional ballet dancer. Today, Ms. Leduc Gagne’s goal is to become a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.

Ms. Leduc Gagne is thankful to her family for their ongoing love and support and was inspired by her father to pursue a career in the legal profession. Alongside her work, she has given her time and talents to worthy causes, including helping to fundraise for children who have a cleft palate and working pro bono for various charitable organizations.
