An established expert in the professional domains of technology, government contracts, and more, Paromita Das is the owner and senior business analyst at Excel MD Consulting, based in California. Her work involves acting as a liaison between end users and developers, creating blueprints for programs, and overseeing the end-to-end system lifecycle design of products. Ms. Das possesses in-depth knowledge and dedication to gathering requirements and ensuring systems are ready for program implementation.
Starting her career in 2001 as a taxpayer specialist with the Department of Revenue in Kentucky for six years, Ms. Das then transitioned to the private sector, joining EDS, Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., as a senior business analyst. Her expertise continued to grow during her tenures at CGI Inc., where she was a senior business analyst and later a senior consultant. Ms. Das also honed her skills at Capgemini as a senior consultant and at Visionary Integration Professionals as a senior business analyst. In 2016, she assumed the role of senior business analyst and BA practice coordinator at Trinity Technology Group, Inc., before founding Excel MD Consulting in 2017.
Ms. Das prepared academically for her career by earning a Master of Public Administration from Kentucky State University and another master’s degree in sociology completed in India, her home country. Continuing her professional education and development, she obtained a certificate in information technology, user interface, and user experience design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, better known as MIT. These accomplishments in securing higher education have greatly impacted her career by allowing her to begin navigating complex technological landscapes with relative ease early on.
Despite societal challenges rooted in patriarchal norms, Ms. Das has consistently pushed through obstacles with determination. Grateful for her achievements, she ascribes her career success to the perseverance inspired by her late mother, a devoted, longtime obstetrician-gynecologist, her driving force, and pillar of strength who encouraged her children to explore the world and pursue their passions. Ms. Das’s late father, meanwhile, she says was inclined towards nonprofit contributions and supported many initiatives, particularly those focused on children. Her parents’ dedication to serving the community has always been paramount. In this vein, adjacent to her profession, Ms. Das is active in civic organizations such as the Court Appointed Special Advocate program, known as CASA, and the Manhattan Leadership Program. Her volunteer work with these organizations mirrors her own desire to give back to her community and her commitment to service and leadership development.
Also key to Ms. Das’s accomplishments is her varied professional background and passion for technology, which have enabled her to quickly grasp new concepts and enthusiastically share her expertise with aspiring information technology professionals, graduates, and other individuals interested in consulting careers. Moving forward, she plans to expand her business and expects that being a Marquis Who’s Who honoree will positively impact her endeavors. She also is poised to increase her professional connections through social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn and encourages her clients to use these spaces to publicly share their feedback. Additionally, by utilizing live blogs or podcasts, she aims to foster engagement and collaboration among specialists in a variety of fields. Away from work, Ms. Das enjoys music, playing classical guitar, and spending time with friends.
In her most personal pursuit, Ms. Das recently embarked on the journey of starting the adoption process to bring a child into her life. She envisions taking her child to places for which she is grateful, including India, where her loving and supportive parents raised her. Ms. Das feels incredibly thankful to her parents for giving her the opportunity to come to the United States and realize her dreams, and she is determined to provide the same kind of limitless space for her child.
