Dr. Dinah Parums is a Medical Writer, Editor, and Publisher who attended medical school at the University of Cambridge, and Oxford University Clinical Medical School, U.K. Dinah also has a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. She has worked as a Consultant and Senior Lecturer in the U.K. health service, and as a medical manager, and has supervised and examined several Ph.D. students. She was a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London, where she trained junior doctors and research clinicians from around the world.
Dinah has an interest in translational science and the application of research on human disease to the development of targeted therapy in cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and oncology.
Dr. Dinah Parums has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has more than 25 years of experience of peer reviewing manuscripts for biomedical journal publication. She continues to review manuscripts for scientific and medical journals and is currently on the editorial boards of several medical journals. Currently, Dr. Parums is also a member of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP), the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), and the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA), and is a member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).
During her medical training, clinical practice, research, and teaching career, Dr. Dinah Parums has received several honors and awards, including the H.E. Durham Fund Award, King’s College, Cambridge (1980); the Alfred A. Richman Research Award, American College of Chest Physicians (1982); the Radcliffe Prize, Oxford University Medical School (1983); the George Pickering Prize, Oxford University Medical School (1983).
In her spare time, Dr. Dinah Parums enjoys gardening and is a member of the Royal Horticulture Society.
