Sami Froncek took her first music lessons at age 5, sparking her perennial passion early and setting the stage for her lifelong dedication to the craft. During her public school education, she played the French horn until she fell ill with labyrinthitis in her freshman year of high school. The illness affected her ability to walk and track things with her eyes, and her physical therapist suggested she try playing an instrument to improve her eye tracking. Within a few years, she auditioned for college on three different instruments: piano, French horn, and the organ, ultimately receiving a scholarship to take organ lessons from the American Guild of Organists. Ms. Froncek chose to study the piano and organ, majoring in piano performance at Baylor University and graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 2011. Continuing her higher education, she earned a Master of Music in piano performance in 2013 and completed a postgraduate diploma as a piano concert artist from the AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts Antwerp, a nonprofit higher education institution in Belgium.
Since 2019, Ms. Froncek has worked at Austin Community College as a TransformED instructional team member, adjunct faculty member, and pianist. Concurrently, she has been a collaborative artist at Tarrytown United Methodist Church since 2022 and has found success as a self-employed piano teacher since 2006. She began her career as a pianist for Baylor University in 2011, later working in Dallas, Texas, as a piano instructor and becoming a pianist for the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church. Ms. Froncek stays involved in her field through her membership in the American Guild of Organists and the Music Teachers National Association.
Attributing her success to numerous professors and mentors who supported and fostered her personal and professional growth, Ms. Froncek remains grateful for their guidance and continues to stay in touch with them. She gives equal credit for all her triumphs to her own love for her art and work.
