Luann Robinson Hull is the author of the three-time award-winning book “Happily Ever After…Right Now, Stop Searching for Mr. Right and Start Celebrating You,” which was first published in 2010 and again in an updated edition in 2015. Her second book, “Self Belonging: Embrace the Wisdom of Soul and Science to Live Your Best Life,” was released in 2022, and her third, “Practical Wisdom for Mastering the Science and Soul of Happiness,” is due to be published in the fall of 2024. Each book, Dr. Hull says, builds on a central theme: that most personal challenges, including those with relationships, can be transcended by using practices based on neuroscience, spirituality, and positive psychology.

With her unique blend of expertise, experience, wit, and wisdom, Dr. Hull aims to help readers work through their ingrained tendencies, achieve personal fulfillment, and attain long-lasting happiness. Well-researched in the subject of neuroscience and neuroplasticity–altering brain chemistry—she helps readers take advantage of their ability to change patterns with practices that support transformation, clearing the way for optimal potential.

Dr. Hull began her higher education at Stephens College and then graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Arts in education. She later matriculated at The University of Kansas, where she received her Master of Science in Social Work. While there, she was honored for her “outstanding performance in the clinical practicum.” After graduating, she passed the licensing exams to become a clinical social worker. Practicing for several years, she pursued her interest in philosophy and religious studies and earned a Doctor of Ministry.

Dr. Hull’s professional approaches have transformed throughout her career. Early in her practice, she focused on psychopathology. In time she found this genre to be limiting, which motivated her to seek a broader perspective. Her pursuit of this new vector led her to study with more than a handful of thought leaders, including Episcopal priest Matthew Fox. Emerging from her education with The Rev. Fox, Dr. Hull has come to incorporate philosophical and spiritual elements into her work, creating a more holistic approach toward mental health and well-being. Practices such as meditation and exercise, together with diet, are now integral parts of her work. She is a trailblazer in the world of mental health, making a substantial impact with her books and research, which continue to redirect the focus from pathology to wellness.

Dr. Hull has a long history of volunteering for various organizations and has served on a number of Boards, including the Advisory Board of the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare and the Kansas Children’s Service League. She has repeatedly used her training as a hospice volunteer to serve compromised family members.

Enjoying the art of homemaking the most, Dr. Hull cherishes her time with her sons and grandchildren. An active yogini and hiker, she stays physically and mentally healthy by hiking the mountains of Colorado, where she constantly marvels at the wonders of nature and the world.
