Eve Goldstein

A little understanding goes a long way and can have a lasting impact on another’s life. Eve Loren Goldstein, PsyD, feels deeply passionate and fortunate to have the opportunity to make a difference. As a child, she struggled with her own reading disability, which was not corrected until a qualified professional accurately identified and provided her with support. After receiving help, she was able to feel more confident and flourish academically. This personal experience ultimately led Dr. Goldstein to build a career that similarly helps others. Today, she is a clinical psychologist who has devoted more than 25 years to helping young people build skills to realize their own potential.

Dr. Goldstein is a director, psychologist and educator at Calabasas Child & Adolescent Psychology in Calabasas, California, and Westchester Child Therapy in Scarsdale, New York. She is also a co-founder of the Child Parent Educator (CPE) Collective. Working at the intersection between education and psychology, she specializes in neuropsychological assessment, learning disabilities, executive functioning, ADHD, anxiety, depression, oppositional behaviors, parenting, teacher training, and community-wide social-emotional learning. A member of the American Psychological Association and the 2021-2022 winner of the City’s Best Award for Psychology, Dr. Goldstein is often sought after as an authority in her field by journalists who report for major television networks, newspapers and other top-tier media outlets. Her degrees include a Doctor of Psychology in school-clinical child psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, a Master of Arts in learning disabilities from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Washington University.

Dr. Goldstein’s commitment to her profession stems from her determination to make a difference within the broader community and her belief that championed educators and families strengthen communities. She attributes her success to being passionate about her work and collaborating with others who also desire to make a difference. What also makes her a standout is her background in education as well as psychology, giving her the ability to see young people from a whole-child perspective. A married mother of three children, Dr. Goldstein’s personal mission is to help youth feel confident and be successful in school and the world around them.

Dr. Goldstein considers it a privilege that her life’s work has always been about contributing positively to society and her love of helping children. Prior to her current roles, she was the child and adolescent psychologist and learning disabilities specialist at Child Development Associates from 2004 to 2013. She also returned to her alma mater to share the benefit of her knowledge with the next generation of clinical candidates as an adjunct professor at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology from 2003 to 2005.

Her previous stints in metropolitan New York were as a psychology intern at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and the New York State Psychiatric Institute from 2002 to 2003; a psychology extern at the Adolescent Suicide and Depression Program at Montefiore Medical Center from 2001 to 2002; a psychology extern within the Scarsdale Public Schools from 1999 to 2000; and a learning specialist at Dwight School from 1997 to 1998. Dr. Goldstein was a learning disabilities specialist and evaluator at Lake Shore Neuropsychological Services from 1995 to 1997 in Evanston, Illinois.

Dr. Goldstein considers the most gratifying aspect of her career to be helping to impact the lives of thousands of children. Through her one-on-one work with families, teacher trainings, and community-wide education programs, Dr. Goldstein teaches the skills for building self-confidence, establishing capable mindsets, strengthening connections and relationships, and uplifting communities. Having the opportunities to teach practical skills that are easy to implement so that people can effect the change they want has contributed to her own professional and personal growth. Within the next five years, Dr. Goldstein wants to continue to expand training teachers and communities at the national and international levels.
